Individual Farm Certification

An agricultural system that uses ecologically based pest controls and biological fertilizers derived largely from animal and plant wastes and nitrogen-fixing cover crops is called organic farming. Organic farming is the basic step to getting individual farm certification. Individual farm certification can be given to farms ranging from small individual farms to big estates. Organic farming continues to be developed by various organizations today other than small farmers. They follow methods such as biological pest control, mixed cropping, crop rotation, and the fostering of insect predators. Organic standards are designed to allow the use of naturally-occurring substances while prohibiting or strictly limiting synthetic substances, thereby getting organic certification. By encouraging organic farming, natural plants, insects, birds, and animals will survive and be abundant in the natural environment there by maintaining the ecological balance.

Vcert provides certification to individual farms and big estates in which a farmer has to practice organic farming as per the NPOP standards and follow the principles of organic farming and laws of organic management systems. In doing so, VCERT gives confidence to the stakeholders in specific aspects of organic standards.
